At the age of 26, Valentine U. presented her first album of jazz covers, "Tenderly", accompanied by two renowned Belgian musicians, Jean-Louis Rassinfosse and Charles Loos. Today she releases "Thanks for the Roses", her first personal project, entirely composed and written in a style halfway between folk and jazz. Her influences come mainly from the likes of Melanie De Biasio, Joni Mitchell and Yael Naim.
Valentine began her musical journey at a very early age, learning the violin, then choir and opera singing. She discovered jazz singing much later. The vocal and musical freedom and diversity offered by the world of jazz appealed to her, and she decided to devote herself entirely to her passion, training at the Royal Conservatory of Music in Antwerp, after completing her studies in physiotherapy.
She is a member of the a capella groups Just Vox and IOTA, with whom she has performed in numerous concerts and festivals in Belgium and abroad. Valentine contributed to composer Bernard L'hoir's album "Noachis Terra", released on Home Records. At the same time, she co-founded the ASBL "Le Relais Jazz", organizing monthly concerts in Tourinnes-la-Grosse in partnership with Les Lundis d'Hortense.
